By Bjørnvig I only knew his poems - and I had quite forgotten endometriosis symptoms his special relationship with Karen Blixen, but on my Denmark Holiday in August, I was on Rungstedlund for the first time. It was an interesting visit, for many who have read some of Blixen I think she's a fascinating character. Quite certainly also one of those people you either hate or love - and I actually think that she would - or had - that's fine with it. She was hardly the average person - on the contrary, she did well almost anything endometriosis symptoms to stand out from the crowd in every way.
On Rungstedlund I bought this little book on Bjørnvig and Blixen's friendship; their special covenant and in particular on the enormous power she had on him. Both the positive and the negative - he has definitely been marked by the relatively few years, it lasted the rest of his life.
At the end of the novel, he quotes a sentence Blixen had written endometriosis symptoms to him in a letter: "The endometriosis symptoms elements that have sand In Touch with the moon, may find themselves in, or forgive this, that thi draws them with so powerful endometriosis symptoms a rhythm."
As Bjørnvig himself points out, it was the moon in this case Blixen herself - and she also sent him biblical quotes, where she put herself endometriosis symptoms in the place of God. How self-righteous and pompous one thinks so! But without having to make me an expert on Blixen, so I think there are several reasons - among other reasons Bjørnvig even mention, of course. Blixen returned from Africa as a shattered woman, not only was she physically sick - she had lost everything she loved ... including the man in her life. Bjørnvig mention somewhere that Finch-Hatton was possibly the only person Blixen had recognized as being on par with her.
As I said failed her confidence absolutely nothing, but it is also one of the hallmarks of syphilis, endometriosis symptoms as her first husband had given her that you suffer from obsessions and delusions of grandeur, as Corfitz Ulfeldt some centuries before was a prime example. In Blixen cases degenerated this outlandish personality, coupled with her personal tragic story into a desire to own or dominate Bjørnvig. I do not think she was physically in love with him - but she wanted him for herself, and envied him his life outside Rungstedlund and so any time that his wife died. She had shown not much finesse in its opinions - it was straight out and clear-cut.
Bjørnvig lived in several periods of Rungstedlund, which he wrote in the green room, where Blixen even wrote in the winter. I could insert a picture of it - because despite the ban I sneaked to take an illegal photograph when I was there ... Of course, without a flash ... but I could not help it. But I'd better keep it away from here! But who lived and wrote his words, and so at times he got enough of her attempts to keep him in his little guldbur, that would influence and turning his poetry in a certain direction.
She just might be directly disgusting! Deep hurtful and offensive - certainly in a pathetic attempt to belittle him, so he also would be in a sentimental beholden to her. It was a pact - it was real, and signed by both parties, endometriosis symptoms and at a time when Blixen sensing he slips away from her, she tries even to convince him that they will seal it in blood. It's a desperate woman's work! Bjørnvig endometriosis symptoms realize also that it is a vicious endometriosis symptoms circle, endometriosis symptoms trying several times to gently pull back and bring the ratio down to a more normal level. But again, Blixen not to reason with - it is a breach of the covenant, and he must accept the consequences and write their way out of it again.
She want and expect unreasonable endometriosis symptoms things of him - and possibly also by others in his entourage, a 'last letter' from Bjørnvig shall immediately have an answer. She refuses simply to realize the inevitable - as a 'jealous matchmaker' which Bjørnvig call her. Had it been today - not 50 years ago - she would have ended up as another fury that had doused him with text messages, emails, etc. She played the jilted role so well that in the end there was nothing for Bjørnvig to do than to publish the fracture in the same way as a divorce.
They had nothing to do with each the last years of Blixen's life, he wrote the novel 12 years after her death and 20 years after their wedding. He, however, return to Rungstedlund, and he never denies the good that came out of their friendship, despite its grueling and overwhelming nature. As he concludes by writing according endometriosis symptoms to her quote about the moon: "What I will remember that when all else is forgotten, this monster handoff."
It was therefore very interesting reading with not a few literary references to how Blixen used his works to leave more or less hidden references to people around her. They mistook them certainly is not - although we as readers endometriosis symptoms have not seen the depth of her works. I have a
